The National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (NAMIC) currently has an opening for an AVP of Federal Affairs in its Washington D.C. office.  This individual will be responsible for assisting the SVP of Government Affairs in designing and implementing legislative and regulatory strategies to advance NAMIC’s federal public policy agenda.     
The well-qualified candidate will have extensive federal legislative, regulatory, and political experience, as well as proven success in leading a team to achieve organizational goals and desired legislative outcomes.  Candidate will be responsible for working closely with NAMIC leadership to provide strategic recommendations on public policy solutions.  Prior experience in establishing and maintaining excellent relationships on Capitol Hill, among stakeholders and with member constituencies are fundamental to the position. 

Qualifications include minimum of 8 years of relevant federal/government affairs work experience and a demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically.  Familiarity with and an understanding of p/c insurance issues is preferred.
This position is located at NAMIC’s Washington, D.C. office on Capitol Hill, reports to the senior vice president and will provide guidance and strategy to leadership.  A competitive compensation and benefits package is included.
