The American Association for Dental Research (AADR), a non-profit 501(c)3, seeks a highly organized and collaborative individual with a strong science and biomedical research background to be the Director of Government Affairs. Must have experience working with Congress and Federal agencies. The position involves maintaining strong collaborations with other dental professional, science-based, and health research advocacy associations. Monitoring emerging issues related to dental and biomedical research, assisting in the formulation of policy positions, and effective advocacy will be required to advance the Associations’ legislative priorities. The position also monitors research policy development at NIH and other Federal agencies and coordinates the AADR response, when required. The incumbent manages a staff Science Policy Analyst, AADR’s external legislative consultants, the Friends of NIDCR, a volunteer-led Government Affairs Committee and a Patient Advocacy Council.
