Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) says President Trump treated the media courteously during his press conference Thursday.
“You know, I think he was being kind by saying ‘very fake news,’ ” he said Friday on Fox News’s “Fox and Friends." "They’re never going to believe this is a guy who should have been elected. That’s just not who they are.
“They want people to kind of fall in line. And when he talks with them, he’s toying with them and they can’t take that. They don’t know how to handle him.”
“He’s gaining momentum. For those of us who come from the area of the country that I come from, back home, the president is stronger today than he was November the 8th.”
The president denounced news reports about turmoil inside his administration during his press conference.
“I turn on the TV, open the newspapers and I see stories of chaos,” Trump said at the White House. "Chaos. Yet it is the exact opposite. This administration is running like a fine-tuned machine.”
Trump also rejected reports that several of his 2016 presidential campaign aides repeatedly communicated with senior Russian intelligence officials.
“You can talk all you want about Russia, which is all a fake news, [a] fabricated deal,” he said.
“Well, I have nothing to do with it,” Trump added when pressed if any of his campaign staff were in touch with Russian officials last year. "Nobody I know of.”
