Rock legend Bruce Springsteen has released a new anti-Trump protest song called “That’s What Makes Us Great.”
Springsteen joined with frequent collaborator Joe Grushecky on the track.
Grushecky told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette that he wrote the song after Trump took office in January.
“I had this song, and Bruce and I had been talking," Grushecky said. "I sent it to him and he liked it. I said, ‘What do you think about singing on it?’ He gave it the Bruce treatment.”
The chorus of the song takes a positive note, as both artists sing, “It’s up to me and you/Love can conquer hate/I know this to be true/That’s what makes us great.”
Springsteen is a longtime supporter of Democratic candidates, having backed both former President Obama and Hillary ClintonHillary Rodham ClintonPoll: 85 percent of Clinton supporters would vote for her again OMB director: Government shutdown not a 'desired end' Poll: Almost half say Trump off to poor start MORE during their campaigns.
